NEW HAMPTON - Leo Duncomb, 83, died Thursday, March 2 at the Heritage Residence in New Hampton after a short illness.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 4 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Hampton with Rev. Marvin Salz presiding. Mass servers were Andy and Kara Messersmith. Gift bearers were Arlene Brummond, David Loes and Linda Fisher. Placing the pall were Barb Brummond, Wordy Crooks, Lonny Smith and Jill Orthel. Ann Bennett, organist, accompanied cantor Travis Bouska and the church choir. Lector was Roscoe McDonald and Leonard Rosonke was Eucharistic Minister.

Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Hampton, with Roscoe McDonald, Bob Messersmith, Ken Rasing, Gary Bouska, Jeff Kellogg and Russell Dreckman serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers were Levi and Clinton Patrie, Arlene Brummond, Pat Dreckman, Peg Drewelow and Shari Rasing.

Visitation was an hour before service time at the church. Conway Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Leo Duncomb was born June 7,1916 at New Hampton, the son of Sidney and Mary Caroline (Ball) Duncomb. He attended St. Mary's School and lived in New Hampton until he was placed at a State School in Toledo. In 1953 he came to the Chickasaw County Home, presently known as the Heritage Residence. He worked as a farm hand for many years at Heritage. Leo found a place for others in his heart and kept in contact with friends and family who touched his life. He took pleasure in the daily news and companionship of those he lived with.

Surviving are one niece, Mary Koser, Montezuma; one nephew, Frank Montei, Tinley Park, IL.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Frank; four sisters, Bertha, Amelia, Gertrude and Esther.
