NEW HAMPTON - Ellen M. Coleman, 95, New Hampton, died Wednesday, Sept. 13 at the New Hampton Care Center of natural causes.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, New Hampton, with Father Carl Schmitt officiating. Ann Bennett will be organist and Mike and Dorothy Carlin will be cantors. Karen Schwickerath will lector.
Interment is in Calvary Cemetery, New Hampton, with Francis Schwickerath, Jim Coleman, Don Sullivan, Don and Merle Schwickerath and Mike Carlin serving as pallbearers.
Friends may call an hour prior to the funeral at the church on Saturday. Larkin-Martin-Hugeback Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Ellen was born Feb. 23,1905 in New Hampton, the daughter of James and Mary (Brennan) Coleman. She attended rural schools and St. Mary's School, North Washington, through the 12th grade. Initially Ellen worked in Waterloo and around 1925 she moved to Los Angeles, CA where she owned and operated restaurants. She returned to New Hampton in 1994 at which time she became a resident of the New Hampton Care Center.
Surviving are one sister, Catherine Schwickerath, New Hampton; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; four brothers, John, Frank, Leonard and Maurice Coleman; one sister, Mary Drewelow.
