Obituary for Thomas G. Dann

Thomas Gordon Dann, age 75, of Nashua, Iowa, died Monday, March 21, 2016, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.

A memorial service will be held in the fall of 2016.

Thomas Gordon Dann was born April 8, 1940, in Nashua, Iowa, the son of Theodore and Erma (Springer) Dann. He received his education in Nashua, and was a 1959 graduate of the Nashua High School. Thomas was united in marriage to Evenelle Townsend. To this union two children, Scott and Stacie were born.

Tom was a family man and treasured the time spent with his children and grandchildren. He also had a love for fishing and boating, and spent countless hours on the water chasing one more bite.

Tom retired from John Deere in Waterloo, and also had received his real estate license. He went on to earn his pilot license and really enjoyed flying. Tom was a member of the Nashua Masons. His last act of giving, was to give the gift of sight to someone else, through donation.

Tom is survived by one son, Scott Dann of Clearwater, FL; one daughter, Stacie (Randy) Cohen of Palm Harbor, FL; three grandchildren, Mackenzie Cohen of Clearwater, FL, Lauren Cohen of Largo, FL, and Meaghan Dann of Clearwater, FL; one great-grandchild, Myrra Whitsett; two sisters, Janet Liddle of Plainfield, Iowa, and Bonnie Dann of Sumner, WA.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Frank, Richard, Robert, and Russell Dann; three sisters, Joanne Rugger, Leah Becker, and Carolyn Peters.
