Obituary for Gary Lee Recker

Gary L. Recker, age 58 of New Hampton, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family.

Gary Lee Recker was born on October 20, 1957, to Joseph and Margaret (Gansen) Recker in New Hampton, Iowa. He was a 1976 graduate of New Hampton High School.

Gary was united in marriage to Nyla Mai on April 27, 1977 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in New Hampton. He hauled canned milk for a local creamery and was a route driver for Culligan. Gary spent his life farming along side his father, Joseph until taking over the farming operations in 2001 and continued farming until the present.

Gary enjoyed music and loved to play his guitar. He truly enjoyed his Harley Davidson motorcycle, 1973 Challenger and farming. Gary’s greatest enjoyment was his love for his family and friends. He was a member of Holy Family Parish in New Hampton.

Left to cherish Gary’s memory are his parents, Joseph and Margaret Recker of New Hampton; his loving wife of 38 years, Nyla of New Hampton; his children, Jesse (Amy) Recker of San Diego, CA, Keith (Jamie) Recker of Waterloo, Iowa, James (Chelsey) Recker of Rochester, MN, and Crystal (Austin) Scott of Carroll, Iowa; six grandchildren, Rylan, Arianna, Anders, Cameron, Vivian and Violet; his brother, Steve Recker of New Hampton; his sisters, Sharon (Dave) Moreno of Chino Valley, AZ, Shirley (Steve) Babcock of New Hampton and Beverly (Rick) Christeson of Manly, IA and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, James Recker and sister, Donna Recker.
