Alice Morrison, age 100 of New Hampton, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, at Linn Haven Rehab and Healthcare of New Hampton.

Alice “Jo” Morrison was born on October 29, 1914 to Joseph and Sarah (Guest) Brassington in Ottumwa, Iowa. She attended school in Ottumwa, Iowa. Jo moved to Muscatine, Iowa, where she worked at a sandwich shop. She was united in marriage to Graham Morrison on August 27, 1937 in Ottumwa. The couple made their home in Muscatine and later moved to Ottumwa where they lived until 1953. They moved to Eddyville, IA and in 1961 they moved to New Hampton. Jo was employed at St. Joseph’s Community Hospital in the dietary department, eventually becoming the dietary supervisor.

In 1983 she retired from the hospital.
Jo enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting, looking after her grandchildren, and making sure they had plenty of cookies and treats for them to share. She was a Past Matron of the Eastern Star, and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her children: Barbara Wilkin of Kansas City, KS, Connie Harding of Eddyville, IA, David (Judee) Morrison of Phoenix, AZ, Charles Morrison of Iowa City, IA, Nancy Edgar of New Hampton, IA; grandchildren, Laura Hurley, Robert Wilkin, Sara Jordison, Joellen Breon, Graham Morrison, Missy Gulick, Carly Edgar, Paul Edgar; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents, husband Graham in 1987; four sisters, Sarah, Eleanor, Irene, and Bessie; and one brother, John in infancy.
