HUBERT LAURES

NEW HAMPTON, IOWA – Services for Hubert J. Laures, 79, will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in New Hampton, with the Rev. J. J. Ollager officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Larkin Funeral Chapel.

Mr. Laures died Saturday, one week after a heart attack. He was born in Chickasaw County, Nov. 5, 1875, the youngest of the eight children of Nicholas and Philomena TeBrockhurst Laures.

He marries Elizabeth Rammer of Sheboygan Falls, Wis., Jan. 9, 1906. They farmed in the community until 1943 when they moved into New Hampton.

While he was operating his farm, Mr. Laures served as secretary and later as vice-president of the Chickasaw County Farm Bureau. He was a committee man of the County Farm Home Administration for three years, a member of the Board of Directors of the New Hampton Farmers Cooperative Creamery Co., and a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Mary’s Church.
