New Hampton, Ia. – Funeral services for Mrs. A. A. Hughes, 79, will be Monday morning at St. Joseph’s Church here. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. F. G. Kelly, pastor will officiate.

Mrs. Hughes died Friday night. She was born July 3, 1875 at Lawler, Iowa, a daughter of Patrick and Bridget Kirk. She taught in Chickasaw County rural schools and was married April 6, 1899, to A. A. Hughes, New Hampton, ? dealer. He died in 1942.

Surviving are four daughters; Miss Rosemary Hughes of New Hampton, Mrs. C. J. Offermann of Elma, Mrs. C. E. Peterson of Webster City, and Mrs. Kenneth Barnes of Burlington; one son, Patrick of Waterloo, and two sisters Mrs. Charles Shephard of Lawler, and Mrs. James Beard of Charles City.

The Larkin Funeral Home of New Hampton is in charge of arrangements.
