NASHUA - Dorothy Marion Phelps, 88, of Nashua, died Sunday, June 15, 2008, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo.

She was born March 18, 1920, southeast of Nashua, daughter of George and Mary Kraft Walsh. She married Glen T. Phelps on July 4, 1939, at McGregor, on the Chief Blackhawk Riverboat. He died June 19, 2003.

Mrs. Phelps graduated from Nashua High School in 1937 and was a member of First Congregational Church.

Survived by three daughters, Judy (James) Zander of Charles City, Patty (Larry) Keeran of Waverly and Nancy (Dennis) White of St. James, Mo.; a son, Glen Jr.; a brother, Larry "Jim" (Sharon) Walsh of Mapleton, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Kay (Lenos) Connor of Nashua; a brother-in-law, Harry McKenzie of Aurora, Colo.; and a sister-in-law, Doris Walsh of Altoona, Wis.

Preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Walsh Sr.; and a sister, Mary Jane McKenzie

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Congregational Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Nashua. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home, Nashua, and an hour before services Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
