WEST UNION - Jerome Skretta, 90, of West Union, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at Palmer Lutheran Health Center of cancer.

He was born Sept. 30, 1914, near Protivin, son of Wenceslaus and Tina Ballak Skretta. He married Alice Kuhn June 25, 1940, in Fort Atkinson. She died May 9, 1988.

Mr. Skretta farmed near West Union, had his own trucking business, opened an antique shop in West Union and then sold farm toys while helping with the Skretta Auction Service.

Survivors include five sons, Fabian (Patricia) of Omaha, Neb., Damian (Judy) of Fairfax, Va., Brian (Linda) of Silver Springs, Nev., Lucian (Ann) of Jefferson, Wis., and Julian of West Union; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by two brothers.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Holy Name Catholic Church, West Union, with burial in St. Johns Cemetery, Fort Atkinson. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Burnham-Wood Funeral Home, where there will be a 4 p.m. parish rosary and 7:30 p.m. Scripture service.
