Glenn James Johnson, 65, of rural Nashua, formerly of Shell Rock, Tripoli and Waterloo, died at his home Monday, May 19, 2014, from natural causes.
He was born July 8, 1948, in Waverly, son of Floyd Clarence and Barbara Doris Minkler Johnson. On June 21, 1970, he married Lorene Kay Trautman at Peace United Church of Christ, Waverly.
Glenn graduated from Tripoli High School in 1967. He was a carpenter for many years, and had worked for CAPP, Spahn and Rose Lumber Co. in Readlyn, and Duane Wessels Inc. in Cedar Falls. In the early 1980s he became owner and operation of Glenn’s Carpenter Service near Nashua, andin 1998 he opened Glenn’s Sharpening Service.
Survived by his wife; three daughters, Wendy Johnson of Salem, Ore., Christine (Chris) Jacobs of Janesville and Brenda (Zach) Roberts of Nashua; four grandchildren; and a sister, Susan (Robert) Ferrie.
Preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Judy Matthias; and two brothers, Frank and Gene.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Waverly, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Shell Rock. Visitation from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
