NEW HAMPTON - Frances Claire Billmeyer, 92, of New Hampton, died Wednesday, April 11, 2007, at the New Hampton Care Center.

She was born Feb. 25, 1915, near Fredericksburg, daughter of John and Nina Brannon Rochford. She married Loren E. Billmeyer Oct. 2, 1939, at the Holy Name Rectory, West Union. He preceded her in death Nov. 15, 2000.

She was a graduate of Lawler High School and Upper Iowa University, Fayette. She taught school in Chickasaw, Buchanan and Fayette counties. She was later a homemaker.

Survived by two sons, James (Ruth) of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Robert (Susan) of Omaha, Neb.; a daughter, Rosemarie (Tim) Byrd of Tampa Bay, Fla.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Merle (Berniece) Rochford of New Hampton; and a sister-in-law, Josephine Rochford of Sumner.

Preceded in death by a sister, Rose; three brothers, Ralph, John "Bud" and Jim Rochford; and a sister-in-law, Lillian Rochford.

Services: 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Lawler, with burial in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery. Public visitation from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
