NASHUA - Kenneth Wilbur Ross, 78, of Nashua, died at home Tuesday, April 10, 2007.
He was born Sept. 28, 1928, in Wellsburg, son of Will W. and Anna Wolf Ross. He married Myrna Bird on Aug. 18, 1957, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Aurora.
Mr. Ross graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1946; was a U.S Army veteran of the Korean Conflict; and in 1953 graduated from Iowa State University, Ames, with a bachelor's degree in farm operations. He had a 40-year career as farm superintendent for Iowa State University. He was at Independence for seven years with the Carrington-Clyde farm; 15 years at Sutherland at the Sutherland-Doon farm; and for 19 years at the Northeast Iowa Research Farm at Nashua, retiring in 1994.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Roxanne Ross of Woodward and Jonette Moore of Lutz, Fla.; a granddaughter; and three sisters, Lois Kerns of Des Moines, Darlene (Arley) Blankenburg of Marion and Thelma (Robert) Voetberg of Ames.
Preceded in death by a brother, Robert.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran Church, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, both in Nashua. Military rites will be conducted by Nashua Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6792. Public visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home, Nashua, and for an hour before services Friday at the church.
