NEW HAMPTON - John F. Budweg, 88, of New Hampton, died Sunday, May 15, 2005 at Mercy Medical Center, New Hampton.

He was born Nov. 26, 1916, in Richland Township near Williamstown, son of Albert and Marie Kottke Budweg. He married Rose Ann Peters on May 24, 1945, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, New Hampton. She preceded him in death.

Mr. Budweg was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Philippines, New Guinea and Indies campaign. He was a lifelong farmer.

Survivors include four sons: Gregory of Lakeville, Minn., Clark of New Hampton, Ward (Jacqueline) of Decorah and Aaron (Michelle) of Eldora; five daughters: Greta Budweg of Warren, Mich., Laura Budweg (Mark Nystrom) of Apple Valley, Minn., Adrianne (Richard) Budweg Iverson of Grand Junction, Colo., Claudia (Jarod) Lemper of Ames, and Caryn (Jeff) Dahm of Davenport; 16 grandchildren; a brother, Henry of New Hampton; and a sister, Louise Peters of Sioux Falls, S.D.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with burial in Calvary Cemetery, both in New Hampton. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home, New Hampton, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.
