NEW HAMPTON - John Dean Costello, 86, of New Hampton, died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005, at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, Mason City.

He was born Oct. 5, 1919, in Douglas Township, Bremer County, son of Francis Albert and Lydia Ann Harker. On March 14, 1948, he married Mary Maxine Carpenter at the First Baptist Church, Fredericksburg.

Mr. Costello farmed and was a Pioneer Seed Corn dealer for more than 20 years.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, James D. Costello of Elma, John F. (Cynthia) Costello of Zimmerman, Minn., Roland (Mary) Natvig of Princeton, Minn., Gregory (Janet) Costello of North Mankato, Minn., and Gene (Lisa) Costello of Onalaska, Wis.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Bessie Buckel of Sumner.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Derwood and Lowell; and three sisters, Yetta Edson, Leone Young and Arlene Grove.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Jerico Lutheran Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home, New Hampton, and for an hour before services Tuesday at the church.
