NASHUA - Ames Delworth Fosse, 85, of Nashua, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005, at the New Hampton Care Center, New Hampton.

He was born March 30, 1920, in Cresco, son of Olin and Della Hickey Fosse. He married Beatrice Jane Kerr on Oct. 24, 1953, at the Geneseo Methodist Church.

Mr. Fosse graduated from Ridgeway High School, Ridgeway, in 1937, then attended Luther College for a year. From 1938 to 1942 he worked at the Grand Theatre in Wellman, Standard Oil in Ridgeway and managed the Mars Theatre in La Porte City. He was then employed by John Deere Co., Waterloo, from 1942 to 1948, and then at the new plant in Ankeny until 1964. He then joined Hydrotile Machinery Co., Nashua, where he worked until retiring in 1985.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Kirby (Valerie) of Ionia and Rick (Karen) of Iowa City; two grandchildren; and a sister, Lorna Fosse of Reno, Nev.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Adrian and Marvin; a sister, Vivian Fosse; and a stepsister, Dorothy.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, Nashua, with committal services at 2:30 p.m. in Geneseo Methodist Cemetery, near Dysart. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home, Nashua, with a 6:45 p.m. Masonic service. Visitation also for an hour before services Friday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the Nashua Lions Club Scholarship Fund, 1287 220th St., Ionia 50645.
