Funeral services were held for Agnes Catherine Dunn, 90, of rural Alta Vista on Monday, October 14, 1996 at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Elma. The Rev. Roger R. Rethemel officiated. Interment was in St. Patrick's Cemetery at St. Cecelia. Conway Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Agnes Catherine died of natural causes at Colonial Manor Home in Elma on Friday, October 11, 1996.

She was born on February 8, 1906 in Deerfield Township, rural Alta Vista, daughter of Richard and Catherine (Murray) Mahoney. She was a 1925 graduate of Colwell High School and attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She taught rural schools near Deerfield for two years.

On September 24, 1935 Agnes was married to Ben Dunn at St. Patrick's Church at St. Cecelia. They farmed west of Alta Vista until their retirement. She had been a resident of Colonial Manor the last three years.

She is survived by three sons, Bernard of Alta Vista; Leonard of Alta Vista; and Joseph of Elma; two daughters, Mary Kramer of New Hampton; and Kay Rasmussen also of New Hampton; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; four brothers, Charles Mahoney, Frank Mahoney, Leo Mahoney and George Mahoney.
