Funeral services for Michael Pitz of Cresco were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 10 at the Conway Funeral Home in New Hampton. The Rev. Carol Christianson officiated. Interment was in New Hampton Cemetery. Pall bearers were: Marvin Butters, James Blomgren, Mike Hobkirk, Rick Ohrtman, Kevin Robson and Tim Hinck.

Michael, 37, died Thursday, January 6, 2000 at his mothers home in Elma.

Michael Robert Pitz was born February 1, 1962 at New Hampton, the son of Robert and Yvonne (Dowd) Pitz. He received his schooling at New Hampton High School and later attended area schools in Calmar and Cedar Rapids. After serving with the U.S. Navy, he worked with computers before working in roof construction. He recently has been employed by Featherlite Corp. in Cresco.

Survivors include his mother Yvonne of Elma, his father Robert of Kellogg; one son: Jason Funk of Conrad; two sisters: Julie Dockendorf of Elma, and Lori Cody of Suffolk, VA; two brothers: Jim of Colwell and Garth Bock of Montana.

Michael was preceded in death by one sister, Roberta Pitz, in infancy.
