GENEVA - Laverne "Buzz" Thomas King, 66, of Geneva, died Monday, July 4, 2005, at the Presbyterian Village, Ackley.

He was born Sept. 22, 1938, in Hampton, son of Leo Joseph and Evelyn Lucille Smith King. He married Pamela Griffel on July 15, 1984, at St. Marys Catholic Church, Ackley.

Mr. King graduated from Geneva High School in 1956 and received a degree in animal science from Iowa State University, Ames, in 1960. He had been a farmer and was a member of the Army National Guard.

Survived by his wife and a brother, the Rev Norman A. King of Sparks, Nev.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Marys Catholic Church, Ackley, with burial in the church cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Elliott-Keninger American Legion Post 252 of Ackley. Sietsema Funeral Home, Ackley, is in charge of arrangements.
