NASHUA - Clarence Henry Gersema, 79, of Nashua, died at home Sunday, July 3, 2005.
He was born March 7, 1926, in Dumont, son of Henry and Bertha Kappel Gersema. He married Louise Anna Vetter at her parents home west of Nashua.
Mr. Gersema farmed west of Nashua and also had worked at Oliver Corp., Charles City, and the Ice House, Nashua. He was past president of the board of the rural fire department and of the rural school board and was a Floyd County volunteer deputy reserve.
Survivors include his wife; a son, David (Cindy) of Nashua; three daughters, Faye Stetzel of Cedar Falls, Kathy (Jeff) Siems of Clare and Lisa Gersema of Inver Grove Heights, Minn.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by an infant brother.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Johns United Church of Christ-Pleasant Hill, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home, Nashua, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
