NEW HAMPTON - George Orval Jerdee, 89, of New Hampton, died Saturday, July 1, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center, New Hampton.

He was born June 14, 1917, on a farm in Jacksonville Township, rural Lawler, son of Ole and Bertha Otteson Jerdee. On Oct. 31, 1954, he married Beverly Larson in Austin, Minn.

Mr. Jerdee began farming in 1929 at the age of 12, following the death of his father, and continued farming all of his life.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Barbara Jean (Bernard) Bowers of Fayette, Sharon Marie (Dennis) Marker of Clive and Donna Kay (Richard) Gladfelder of Shawnee, Kan.; two sons, Paul Dean (Perla) of Socorro, N.M., and Keith Lee (Cindy) Jerdee of Lawler; 10 grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren; and two sisters, Marian Denner and Hazel Cooney, both of Cranston, R.I.

Preceded in death by two brothers, Karl and Joseph; and three sisters, Claretta Vikdal, Viola Jerdee and Gladys Jerdee.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hampton, with burial in Crane Creek Cemetery, rural Lawler. Public visitation 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home, New Hampton, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.
