NEW HAMPTON - Dennis R. Breitbach, 58, of New Hampton, died Sunday, March 5, 2006, of cancer at Mercy Medical Center, New Hampton.

He was born April 18, 1947, in New Hampton, son of Donald and Mary Secrist Breitbach. He married Barbara Cenek in 1969. They later divorced.

Mr. Breitbach was a 1965 graduate of New Hampton High School and worked for a short time at White Farm Equipment, Charles City. He entered the U.S. Army in 1966, serving in Germany, and was discharged in 1968. He worked as a farm employee in the Humboldt area, for Maynard Co-op and also at Thermogas in Sumner. He suffered a stroke in August 1998.

Survivors include two sons, Jamie and Joseph, both of Sumner; a special friend, Sharon McDowell of New Hampton; his father of New Hampton; two sisters, Linda (Clyde) Gilson of Torrington, Wyo., and Nancy (Bob) Pudil of La Porte City; and a brother, David (Kay) Breitbach of Roseville, Minn.

Preceded in death by his mother; and his grandparents.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Parish-St. Mary Center, New Hampton. Inurnment with military honors will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, New Hampton. Public visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home, New Hampton, with a 4 p.m. Catholic Daughters of the Americas rosary and a 7 p.m. Scripture service, and from 8 to 10 a.m. Wednesday, also at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family or to the charity of donor's choice in Mr. Breitbach's name.
