Obituary for Gerald L. Upham--

Gerald Lee Upham, son of William Clair and Florence Jaehrling Upham, died at the Care Center in New Hampton, Iowa on February 27, 2012.

A Memorial service for Jerry will be held 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2012 at Rose Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg, Iowa.

Jerry was born In New Hampton, Iowa on November 28, 1932. He received his education in Fredericksburg and at the University of Iowa. He enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Newfoundland.

Jerry retired from the Southern Pacific Railroad and spent his retirement years in Texas and Florida before returning to Iowa to make his home.

Jerry is survived by four sisters, Marilyn Moldenhauer of New Hampton, Grace (Gene) Nelson, Carol Ann (Gary) Steege and Joan Cochran all of Fredericksburg and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Joyce (Clair) Rausch of Iowa City and a brother-in-law, Ted Moldenhauer.
