Carol M. Bottin, age 85, of New Hampton, IA died Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton.

Carol Marie Bottin was born May 30, 1925 to Joseph and Edith (Dunlap) Stephens in Ionia, IA. She graduated from New Hampton High School in 1942. Carol was employed as a bookkeeper at Mielke Manufacturing, Eclipse Lumber, and finally Peoples Gas Company for 20 years, retiring in 1983. Carol was united in marriage to Paul Bottin on December 1, 1944 in New Hampton. The couple continued to live in New Hampton after their marriage. Carol enjoyed birds and cats, geneology, and the Pioneer Chickasaw Cemetery Association. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Trinity Quilters and Trinity Womens Circles. Carol was also a member of the Iowa Geneology Society and Chickasaw County Geneology Society.

She is survived by her special friends Howard and Sharon Bunger of New Hampton, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Paul in 1992, her brother, Joseph and sister, Marian Stephens.

Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church and/or Chickasaw Event Center.

Burial will be at a later date.

Visitation will be on Sunday, January 23, 2011 from 3:00-6:00pm at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home in New Hampton. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, January 24, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hampton with Pastor Kevin Frey officiating.
