Lucille B. Brown, age 81, of New Hampton, Iowa died on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at New Hampton Care Center in New Hampton.
Lucille Barbara Miller was born on April 16, 1929 to Nick and Dorothy (Schmitz) Miller on a farm near Ionia, Iowa. Lucille attended St. Marys School in North Washington and graduated in 1946.
She was united in marriage to Delmer F. Brown on December 30, 1946 at Immaculate Conception Church in North Washington. After their marriage Delmer and Lucille traveled the country painting water towers. Later they settled in New Hampton where she sold Watkins products for several years. In 1971 she was employed by Sara Lee Foods in New Hampton until 1986 when she retired. Lucille enjoyed golf, playing cards with the men, traveling with family and going to Lake Thunderhead in Missouri. She was a member of St. Josephs Center Holy Family Parish, St. Josephs Rosary Society and the Fredericksburg Country Club.
Lucille is survived by children Delmer Bill (Shirley Pitz) Brown of New Hampton, Larry (Phyllis) Brown of New Hampton, Shirley (David) Kopp of Marion, IA and Susanne (Tom) Olson of Olathe, KS; grandchildren Jennifer (Jeff) Muzzy, Del Brown, Nicole Brown, Kelly (Ryan) Daily, Lucy Kopp, Beau Kopp, and Alex and Andrew Olson; great grandchildren Sarah Muzzy and Madeline Daily; sisters Leota (Bill) Burns of Marshalltown,IA, Laurie (Bob) Burns of Cedar Rapids, IA, Doris Miller of Minneapolis, MN, and Robert (Sue) Miller of Minneapolis, MN; sister-in-law Pearl Brown of Waterloo, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Delmer in 1991, five children at birth, and brother Francis Sonny Miller.
Memorials may be directed to Lucille's family.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at New Hampton.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 from 3:00-7:00pm at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home in New Hampton with a Rosary at 3:30pm and a Scriptural Wake Service at 5:00pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Holy Family Parish - St. Josephs Center in New Hampton with Father Mark Osterhaus celebrating the mass.
