Janice P. Dana, age 70, of New Hampton, died on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at her home in New Hampton.

Janice was born on April 30, 1940 to Louis and Margaret (Hansen) Sudhop in New Hampton, Iowa. Janice attended school in New Hampton before she moved with her family to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1953. She graduated from Upper Darby High School in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. After her graduation Janice worked in various clerical positions in Philadelphia. Janice returned to New Hampton when she married Richard Dana on October 26, 1985. Janice has continued to live in New Hampton. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was a 46 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Janice enjoyed her church activities, particularly quilting, visiting with people, and volunteering at area nursing homes where she played the organ for the residents.

Janice is survived by her siblings, Roy (Ann) Haugh of Annapolis, Maryland, Pauline Makamul of San Bernadino, California, Emily Sudhop of New Hampton, Stephen (Delores) Sudhop of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Peter (Sharon) Sudhop of Lansdowne, Pennsylvania; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Richard in 1998.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Burial will be held in New Hampton Cemetery at New Hampton.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 from 4:00-7:00 p.m., with an Order of the Eastern Star service at 5:00 p.m. at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home in New Hampton. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hampton with Pastor Kevin Frey officiating.
