Mildred B. Nosbisch, age 93, of New Hampton, IA, died on Thursday, January 21, 2010 at the New Hampton Care Center in New Hampton.
Mildred B. Ungs was born on July 3, 1916 to Michael and Elizabeth (Rausch) Ungs near North Washington, IA. She attended St. Marys School in North Washington. Mildred was a maid for families in the area. On December 28, 1937 Mildred was united in marriage to Victor Nosbisch at Immaculate Conception Church in North Washington. The couple farmed together in the North Washington area until 1960, when they moved to New Hampton. Mildred was a cook for Hollys Caf in New Hampton, as well as, New Hampton Community School.
Mildred enjoyed her plants, flower gardens, collecting dolls, many crafts, crocheting, and cake decorating. She especially enjoyed good times with her family, playing cards with her sisters, and cooking. Mildred volunteered at the New Hampton Care Center for several years. She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church, and Holy Family Rosary Society.
Mildred is survived by her six children Carol Schmitz of New Hampton, Ron Nosbisch of Mesa, AZ, Sharon (Mac) McDonald of New Hampton, Jean Wiltse of New Hampton, Phyllis Nosbisch of Wheeling, IL, and Steve (Maryanne) Nosbisch of Larkspur, CO; 16 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; two sisters Luella Lentz of New Hampton, and Edna Long of New Hampton; a brother-in-law Dale Gates of New Hampton; a sister-in-law Mel Ungs of New Hampton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Victor Nosbisch on January 3, 1999; five brothers Clarence, Edward, Francis, Reynold, and Clement Ungs; a sister Elaine Gates; and three sons-in-law Ron Schmitz, Vernon Wiltse, and Mick Spencer.
Burial will be in St. Marys Cemetery at New Hampton with Cory McDonald, Brian McDonald, Bill Edgar, Jason Gamble, Paul Schmitz, Nyle Nosbisch, Tom Schmitz, and Mitch Nosbisch serving as casket bearers. Honorary casket bearers will be Ella Mae Rankin, Charlotte Hollis, Lavonne Rosonke, Ethel OByrne, Lorna Gorman, Ralph Rausch, Francis Kramer, Paul Schwickerath, Dick White, Bob Kramer, and Don Kubesh.
Visitation will be on Monday, January 25, 2010 from 4-8pm at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home in New Hampton with a rosary at 4:30 and a 7:00 pm scriptural wake service. Visitation will continue at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Holy Family Parish-St. Marys Center in New Hampton with Msgr. Carl Schmitt and Father Marvin Salz celebrating.
