Walter Bauer – April 19, 1921 – December 23, 2007

New Hampton -- Walter Bauer, 86, of New Hampton, died Sunday, December 23, at Mercy Medical Center, New Hampton.

He was born April 19, 1921, in Old Monroe, Missouri, the son of Louis and Gertrude (Gnade) Bauer. On June 25, 1949, he married Alma Hageman in Glenview, Illinois.

Mr. Bauer served in the U.S. Navy and was employed at Mission Gardens, Techny, Illinois for 43 years.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jim (Mary) of Antioch, Illinois; a daughter, Betty (Mike) Burden of Mount Prospect, Illinois, four grandchildren, and four sisters, Lucille Holting, Leona Bauer and Florence Survant, all of St. Louis, Missouri, and Georgina Borgemeyer of Huntington, VA.

He was preceded in Death by two brothers, Leonard and Robert Bauer.

Services 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Parish-St. Mary’s Center with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, both in New Hampton. Public visitation form 3 to 7 p.. Wednesday at Hegeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home, New Hampton, with a 4 p.m. rosary and a 6 p.m. Scripture service. Visitation also from 8 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
