Marvyl J. Frink, age 87 of New Hampton, IA died on Sunday, May 2, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Marvyl was born on November 30, 1922 to Frank and Clara (Bier) Guth in Meservey, IA. She graduated from Meservey High School in 1939. Marvyl then attended Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, IA. She taught school at Northwood, IA until 1948. Marvyl was united in marriage to Everett Frink on July 23, 1947 in Meservey, IA. The couple lived and taught in Reinbeck, IA for two years before moving to New Hampton where she was a homemaker and substitute teacher. She was the librarian at the New Hampton Library for 25 years. Marvyl volunteered for years at the Treasure Chest and Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton. She enjoyed walking, quilting, gardening, playing cards and the morning coffee club. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Marvyl is survived by her two children Janice (Bruce) Anderson of Marion, IA and Bruce (Lori) Frink of Clarion, IA; seven grandchildren Melissa Buchholz, Matthew Anderson, Jonathan Anderson, Dale Frink, Chris Frink, Nick Rohrer and Jessica Rohrer; six great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law Amelia Guth of Meservey, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Everett in 1975; two brothers Everett and Eugene Guth and one sister Frances.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Burial will take place at New Hampton Cemetery with Matthew Anderson, Jonathan Anderson, Dale Frink, Chris Frink, Nick Rohrer and Chad Buchholz serving as casket bearers.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home in New Hampton. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church, in New Hampton, IA with Reverend Kevin Frey officiating.
