Clarence Theodore Fisk – April 15, 1904 – November 14, 1971

CLARENCE FISK

Clarence Theodore Fisk, the son of Theodore and Lulu Fisk, was born at Lake Park, Iowa, April 15, 1904, and moved with his parents to a farm near Comfrey, Minnesota, in 1913 and grew to manhood in that community.

He was married to Susie Wright February 21, 1928, at Windom, Minnesota. For a time, the farmed near Jeffers, where he was custodian of the public school until the fall of 1945, when they purchased a grocery store and gas station at Taopi, Minnesota. Clarence also owned and operated a school bus for the Adams, Minnesota public school. In 1965 they sold their business, moving to Adams, where they resided for one year. At that time they purchased the Our Own Hardware store in Nashua, Iowa, and this has been the family home ever since.

Clarence was a member of the United Methodist church. The couple observed their 40th wedding anniversary in 1968.

He passed from this life Sunday evening, November 14, at the Charles City hospital about 9:10 p.m. He had suffered a previous coronary in 1964. Although he had been in poor health since his retirement in April, 1966, his sudden passing came as a great shock to his family and to his many relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 17 from the United Methodist Church in Nashua, his pastor, the Rev. Robert Lemmermann, officiating. A prayer service and scripture reading for the family was held at 1:30 p.m. At the services, Mrs. Duane Tracy and Mrs. Leroy Head sang, accompanied by Mrs. Donald Shepard at the organ.

Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery at Nashua. Casket bearers were Fred Plautz, Irving Bloom, Darwin Smith, Jack Eckenrod, Wilmer Brandau, and Maurice Demro. Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Darwin Smith and Mrs. Fred Plautz.
