Rollier Funeral
Services Are Held
at Alta Vista

Alta Vista, Ia.—Funeral rites for Mrs. Ernestine Rollier who died at her home east of town early Sunday morning were in Zion Lutheran Church here Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 1. Rev A. F. Karsten, pastor, officiated.

Mrs. Rollier was born at Haulngen Auder Plorach Baden, Germany, Nov. 14, 1864. When a small child she came with her parents to America, settling near Lutherville. Ark., where on May 20, 1888, she was married to Paul Rollier. They moved to Benton County in 1893 and lived for one year before moving to Chickasaw County.

Survivors are the husband, three sons and a daughter: Walter and Rufus, Dougherty, Ia.; Art, St. Louis; Mrs. Edna Katz, Alta Vista; one sister, Mrs. E. E. Studt and a
grandson, Floyd Katz, also survives

The angel of death knocked on Sunday morning, at Mrs. Ernestine Rollier's door and summoned her home after a long period of sickness. She died about 2:45 with the members of her family at her side. She was the age of 67 years 11 months and 15 days. Complications arising from diabetes were the cause of her death.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, November 1st, at the house and at the Zion Lutheran church with Rev. A. F. Karsten in charge of the services and at the grave. The text of the sermon was "For I know that my Redeemer liveth and that He shall stand at the latter day upon the earth and though, after my skin worms destroy this body yet in my flesh shall I see God." The remains were laid to rest in Rowley Cemetery in Bassett.

The deceased, Ernestine Brenneisen was born at Houinger Auder Plarach Bade Germany, on November 14, 1864. She was the youngest of eight children.

When a young girl she came with her parents to this country and settled near Lutherville, Arkansas. On May 20, 1889, she was united in marriage to Paul Rollier. They lived at Lutherville about five years and then moved to Benton County for one year, and after that in Chickasaw County, near Bassett, later at Deerfield and then east of Alta Vista.

Four children blessed this home all of whom survive with her husband. The children are: Rufus and Walter of Dougherty, Art of St. Louis and Mrs. Edna Katz east of here. Her husband and one sister Mrs. Studt, one grandson and a host of friends mourn her passing.

Mrs. Rollier was one of the pioneers of this country and can be spoken of as an excellent woman. She was a home lover and her children and friends can say much on that part, being a faithful mother and wife, always doing her part and sharing her hardships in the best way.

She was a Christian woman and was always ready to give a helping hand in all times. She was a member of the Lutheran church, confirmed so in the early part of her life. She made a host of friends by her friendly ways and always leading a good life.

Sincere sympathy is extended to the bereaved ones by her many friends.
