Verna Louise (Fisher) Cagley – March 25, 1902 – July 14, 1990

Verna L. Cagley, 88, passed away Saturday evening, July 14, 1990 at the Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City, Iowa

She was born on March 25, 1902 in Chickasaw County, Iowa. Verna was the daughter of Lester and Gertrude (Hall) Fisher. She attended rural schools in Chickasaw County.

Verna L Fisher and John F Cagley were united in marriage on September 14, 1921 at New Hampton, Iowa. Verna was a mother and homemaker, raising their two sons and two daughters. She was always ready to help family and friends in a time of need. Her warm smile that greeted us as she walked to the post office or grocery store will be sadly missed.

She is survived by her two sons, Louis of Portland, Oregon and Lyle of Beaverton, Oregon; two daughters, Ellen Sands of Beaverton, Oregon and Selma Bell of Coos Bay, Oregon; a brother, Victor Fisher of Nashua, Iowa; a sister, Margery Smith of Tigard, Oregon; also twelve grandchildren and twenty four great-grandchildren.

Verna was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John on April 10, 1970; two brothers, Roy Fisher and Lloyd Fisher; two sisters, Bernice Riiho and Wava Barter.
