Edith Nora (Dietz) Vohsmann – March 24, 1921 – March 11, 2011

Edith N. Vohsmann age 89 of Nashua died Friday morning, March 11, 2011, at the Muse-Norris Hospice in Mason City.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2011, at the United Methodist Church, Nashua with Pastor Okitakoyi Lundula officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Nashua.

Friends may greet the family 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home in Nashua. Visitation Continues an hour prior to the funeral at the church on Monday.

Edith Nora Vohsmann was born March 24, 1921, near Plainfield, IA, the daughter of George and Edith (Masten) Dietz. She received her education in rural country schools near Bremer, IA. On October 23, 1950, at St. Michael's Rectory in Nashua, she married Lawrence Vohsmann. To this union two children were born. The couple farmed together northeast of Nashua from the time they married until 1992 when they moved into Nashua. In Edith's spare time she enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family.

Survivors include one son, Marty (Shari) Vohsmann of Nashua; one daughter, Lorraine (Tim) Leaman of Urbandale, IA; six grandchildren, Dan Leaman, his friend Amy and her children; Taylor, Mallory and McKenna; Kara (Andy) Dare and their children; Megan and Max; James (Andrea) Leaman; Marcus (Heather) Leach and their son, Carter; Tamara (Cory) Harter and their children; Autumn and Colby; Matt Vohsmann.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, four brothers, Alvin, Georgie, Charlie and Clarence Dietz; five sisters, Emma Dietz, Effie Conklin, Bessie Runyan, Martha Wagner and Mildred Caswell.
