Tessie Troutner Dies at Age 90

Mrs. Tessie Troutner, 90, a longtime former resident of Nashua, died Saturday, August 9, at the New Hampton hospital. Funeral services were held at 1:30 Monday from the Congregational Church in New Hampton, the Rev. Ward Stephenson officiating.

Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in Nashua, where her husband, the late Homer Troutner, is buried.

Mrs. Troutner had lived in New Hampton since her husband died in 1936. They were married in 1902.

Tessie Sophia Frederici was born August 21, 1878, at Bassett, the daughter of Valentine and Theresa (Boller) Frederici. She was an 1898 graduate of the Nashua High School and had attended the Cedar Falls Normal School, where she obtained her teaching certificate. She taught school in Chickasaw County for several years.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. A. C. Schmidt and Mrs. A. K. Leichtman, both of New Hampton, Mrs. Paul Betz of LaGrange, Ill., and Mrs. Ruth Lyman of Des Plaines, Ill. 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Mrs. A. K. Leichtman in 1966, a grandson, a sister, Tina, and two brothers, Oscar and Arthur Frederici.
