New Hampton — Funeral services for Benjamin Shortley, 80, will be Sunday at 2:30 p. m. at the Congregational Church here. He died Thursday night at the IOOF home' at Mason City.

He was a son of Robert and Eliza (Twamley) Shortley and was born May 25, 1871, in Chickasaw County. He attended Breckenridge institute at Decorah and Highland College, Des Moines. For several years he taught before returning to farm. He was a charter member of the IOOF lodge here.

Preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters. The body is at the Perry Funeral Home.
