MRS. A. E. BALTZER, 82, DIED WED. AT HAMPTON

Funeral Held In Nashua Friday;
Had Been a Resident of this
Community for 43 Years

Mrs. A. E. Baltzer, 82, a resident of the Nashua community for 43 years, died Wednesday morning of last week at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. N. Juhl, at Hampton, Iowa.

Mrs. Baltzer had been in poor health for several years, but was seriously ill only from Saturday preceding her death. An attack of pleurisy developed into pneumonia, which resulted in her death.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Methodist church in Nashua, Rev. James B. Bird officiating. Mesdames E. C. Baumbach and C. L. Johnson sang, accompanied on the piano by Richard Meier.

Her obituary follows:

Viola Jane Arnold, daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth Arnold, was born June 3, 1858 at Orangeville, Ill. On Jan. 18, 1880 at that place, she was united in marriage with Arthur E. Baltzer, and in 1886 they moved to Iowa, residing in and near Nashua for 43 years. She was converted and united with the Baptist church of Nashua on May 3, 1896.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who passed away Oct. 20, 1939, and one son, Brooks I. Baltzer, who died Dec. 2, 1939.

Since the death of her husband Mrs. Baltzer had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. S. N. Juhl at Hampton, where she died Nov. 27, 1940.

Surviving also are two sons: Lloyd L. Baltzer, of Hampton, and Keith L. Baltzer, of Dumont, Ia., and one brother, D. F. Arnold, of Ionia. Also six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
