Obituary for James Alvin Gitch--

James Alvin Gitch "Jimmie James", age 69 of Fredericksburg, Iowa, died Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at the University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City.

A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 2, 2013, at the Hugeback - Johnson Funeral Home, Fredericksburg with Pastor Ronnie Koch presiding. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Fredericksburg.

Friends may greet the family 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the Funeral Home on Monday.

James Alvin Gitch (Jimmie Rae James) was born July 14, 1944, in New Hampton, Iowa, the son of Alvin and Beth (Chambers) Gitch. He received his education in Fredericksburg and was a 1962 graduate of the Fredericksburg High School. Jimmie continued his education at the University of Northern Iowa receiving his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Business. Jimmie married Brenda Joy Bartos and to this union one child was born. The couple moved to the Kansas City area in 1981, and resided there for several years. Jimmie moved back to Fredericksburg in 2008, and was an aspiring artist and enjoyed playing and watching sporting events. His enthusiasm for sports was infectious to all.

Survivors include one daughter, Kristin (Gitch) Gossett of Olathe, Kansas; one son-in-law, Travis Gossett and four grandchildren, Brittany Suzanne, Taylor Evelyn, Lucas Jacob and Logan Charles all of Olathe, Kansas; two brothers, Jerry (Georgia) Gitch of Sumner, Iowa, and Gayle Gitch of Fredericksburg, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Alvin and Beth Gitch.
