Judy Lensing, age 69, of New Hampton, died on Sunday, March 16, 2008 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, IA.

Judith Ann Lensing was born December 6, 1938 to Owen and Joyce (Clarke) Hopkins in Ft. Dodge, IA. She graduated from Upper Iowa University in Fayette, IA. After her graduation she was an elementary school teacher in Fredericksburg and St. Josephs Catholic School in New Hampton. Judy retired after teaching for 35 years. She lived in Fredericksburg all her adult life until entering New Hampton Care Center in 2005.

Judy enjoyed reading, visiting and laughing with family and friends, bird watching and all of nature. She was a member of the Holy Family Parish, St. Josephs Center in New Hampton.

Judy is survived by nieces and nephews Joshua, Shawn, Kelly, Shannon, Kasey, Scott , Cheryl, Doug, Lonnie; two sisters-in-law Judy Hopkins of Washington, MO and Nancy Hopkins of Cedar Rapids, IA; many grand nieces and nephews; and her many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Philip and Joel Hopkins.

Memorials prefferred to Salvation Army.

Burial will be in Washington Cemetery at Havelock, IA at a later date.

A gathering to celebrate Judys life will be 3:00-5:00pm on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at the St. Josephs Gathering Center with a Scriptural Wake Service at 4:00pm.

A Memorial Mass will be 5:00pm on Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Holy Family Parish, St. Josephs Center in New Hampton, Iowa with Msgr. Carl Schmitt celebrating mass.
