Andrew B. Tieskotter, age 86 of Little Turkey, Iowa died Monday evening, December 22, 2008, at Regional Health Services in Cresco.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 29, 2008, at Assumption Parish, Little Turkey with Rev. David Beckman celebrating the Mass. The pall will be placed on the casket by his wife and children. Lector for the service will be Richard Tieskotter and the offertory gifts will be presented by Kelli Schmitz, Karen McDonald, Stephanie Schneider and Cheryl Young.

Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Little Turkey, with Charles Tieskotter, Scott Tieskotter, Brian Tieskotter, Julia Alberts, Curt Schmitz, Thomas Tieskotter, Renee Perry and Andrew Friedman as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Ryan & Cheryl Young, Michael & Tracy Dart, Tom & Ashley Schweer, Amy Tieskotter, Cindy Tieskotter, Jacob Tieskotter, Adam & Kelli Tieskotter, Stephanie Schneider, Steven Friedman, Staci & Doug Jamsma, Kelli Schmitz, Ryan Alberts, Christian & Karen McDonald, Andrea Tieskotter, Lindsay Schmitz, Jemyma Friedman, Eric Perry, Dan & Tessa Varner, Nathan Tieskotter, Joe & Karen Spiegel and Darren & Laura Carlson and step-granddaughter, Kelsey Andera.

Friends may call 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. Sunday, December 28, 2008, at the Hugeback & Chenoweth Funeral Home in New Hampton where there will be a 4:00 p.m. Catholic Daughters of the America’s Rosary and a 7:00 p.m. Parish Scripture Service lead by Tyler and Lynette Wheeler. Visitation continues 8:00 - 10:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Andrew B. Tieskotter was born May 26, 1922, in Festina, IA, the son of John and Cecelia (Schneberger) Tieskotter. He was united in marriage to Bernadine Tillman on October 10, 1945, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, St. Lucas, IA. The couple initially farmed north of Protivin, IA. In 1964, they moved to Little Turkey and continued farming there until his death. He was a member of Assumption Parish in Little Turkey.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Bernadine; six sons, Richard (Marlene) Tieskotter, Dennis (Kathy) Tieskotter all of Lawler, IA, Mark (Diane) Tieskotter of Waucoma, IA, Roy (Nancy) Tieskotter of New Hampton, IA, Dan Tieskotter of Harpers Ferry, IA, Gerald Tieskotter of Lawler; three daughters, Mary (Joe) Roybal of Platteville, CO, Martha (Marvin) Andera of Cresco, IA, Maxine (Robert) Friedman of Floyd, IA; 24 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Vera Tierney of Cedar Falls and Marian (Juel) Knutson of New Hampton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, David; daughter, Marlene; two grandsons, Jeffrey Schmitz, Jon Schmitz; one granddaughter, Christine Tieskotter; brothers Wilfred and Roman; sisters Bernadette and Leona' brother in laws, Leonard Tillman, Joe Tierney and Andrew Kruse and sister in law, Regina Tieskotter.
