Peter Jensen Dies At Waverly Hospital

Well Known Farmer Passes Away Thursday
Following Illness of a Few Days---Funeral Monday

Peter Jensen, a well known farmer of this community passed away at Mercy Hospital, Waverly, Iowa, Thursday evening following an illness of only a few days. Mr. Jensen was taken ill on Tuesday and by Thursday his condition had become so critical that he was taken to the hospital in Lundt's ambulance. Thursday night he submitted to an operation for appendicitis, but without avail he passed away Friday morning.

Deceased was born in New York state on October 30, 1869 and he came to Iowa in early manhood, located in this community. On February 11, 1895, at Charles City, he was united in marriage to Miss Mettie Sutherland.

They took up their residence in this locality and the remaining years of his life were spent here. To this union five sons and one daughter were born, all of whom survive their father. The children are Clarence and Fred who have established homes of their own in this community, Ralph, Ivan and Ruth at home and Willis, of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Mr. Jensen is also survived by several brothers and sisters, namely, Thorval and Andrew of Minnesota, Anna Christiansen of Wisconsin, Mary Perrin, New Hartford, Maggie Stocks, Peosta, one brother preceded him in death. Three grandchildren also survive.

Deceased was a member of The Little Brown Church in the Vale. He was a kind and indulgent husband and father, and a good citizen and neighbor, and all sympathize with the family in their great bereavement.

Funeral services were held Monday from The Little Brown Church, the pastor Rev. William Kent officiating and internment was in Greenwood Cemetery.
