BARNEY RAUH DIES AT THE HOME OF DAUGHTER MRS. BOELLERSCHEN

On Saturday, Aug. 17, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Joseph Boellerschen of this city, occurred the death of Barney Rauh, aged 86 years.

The deceased was born in Germany, April 11, 1826, where he remained until a young man. He then set sail for America, coming to Waterford, Wis., where he later married Miss Houssoop. About three years after, they came to Deerfield township and lived on a farm. They then moved to North Washington, where they resided fifteen years and until Mrs. Rauh’s death, eight years ago. Since that time he has made his home with his daughter at New Hampton.

One child, Mrs. Boellerschen, was born to this union. He is survived by his daughter, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held Monday at 8:30 from St. Mary’s church in this city, conducted by Rev. B. H. Forkenbrock and burial took place at North Washington.

Mr. Rauh was the oldest of eight children; the others are all dead, having died in Germany. He was sick about four weeks. Death was due to his advanced age, the wearing out of his earthly being.

Mr. Rauh leaves many friends and relatives who regret his demise and to all of whom sympathy is extended
