Friday Rites for Harry Ohm

Lawler - Funeral services for Harry J. Ohm, 60, of Lawler, a longtime Chickasaw County resident, were held Friday, January 24, from Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hampton with the Rev. Bernard Oebser and the Rev. Robert Toso, pastors, officiating.

Dorothy Stolz was organist and accompanied Mr and Mrs Peter Willadsenn as they sant "Till We Meet Again" and "How Great Thou Art". Mr Ohm's son-in-law, Ercell Hinck also sang "Peace In The Valley" with guitar accompaniment.

Burial was at the New Hampton Cemetery with Neal Stone, SR, Cletus Murray, James Folkers, Henry Fenci and Arthur Munson, all of Lawler and Ray Cooney of New Hampton, as casket bearers.

Perry-Conway Funeral Service had charge of arrangements.

Mr Ohm died Wednesday evening, January 22 at the New Hampton hospital where he had been a patient for five days.

Harry J. Ohm, was born February 13, 1914, in Jacksonville Township, the son of Albert and Anna (Kathner) Ohm. He attended rural schools of the county and was married to the former Frances I. Zipse on July 24, 1933 at Charles City. Following their marriage, they farmed for several years and Mr Ohm was then employed by Chickasaw County as a maintainer operator for several years. Later he was employed by Stone Implement and Fenci Construction, both at Lawler. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, New Hampton.

Survivors include his wife, Frances; his mother, Mrs Anna Ohm, of New Hampton; four sons, LaVerne, William and James Ohm, all of New Hampton and David Ohm of West Union; three daughters Mrs Leland Moorman (Ann Marie) of Elam, and Mrs. Ercell (Kay) Hinck and Mrs. Linda Mathias, both of New Hampton; 17 grandchildren and three brothers, Clifford of Lawler and Robert and Clarence Ohm, both of New Hampton.

He was preceded in death by his father, a daughter, Patricia Ann, a son, Donald, and a brother, Ervin Ohm.
