John Welziem Died Suddenly

Passed Away Monday Morning at His Home in Boyd of Heart Failure At The Age of 72 Years.

John Welziem of Boyd died suddenly at his home Monday morning, February 13th after but a day's sickness. Death was due to heart failure.

The deceased was born in Germany seventy two years ago. When but fifteen years of age he came to the United States and settled in Chicago where he lived and made his home for twenty-five years. In 1896 he came to Boyd and this remained his home until death.

After he came to Boyd he was married to Mrs. Ulrieke Maier who preceded him in death last summer. He is survived by the following step children, Mrs Marie Foot of California, Mrs. Chris Peterson, Mrs. Ed Zipse, Mrs Martha Carlson and Mr Albert Ohm.

Mr Welziem was a fine man who was loved by his family and highly respected by his neighbors and friends. For a number of years he has owned and operated the little store at Boyd.

The desceased was a member of the Lutheran Church and his funeral will be from that church in Boyd this Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery. His pastor Rev Hertz will officiate.
