OBITUARY: Toledo Blade, 2 June 1970.

HAROLD E. JOHNSON, 70, of 428 Islington St., died today in Cherry Hill Nursing Home after a one-month illness.

A native of New Hampton, Ia., Mr. Johnson lived in Toledo 23 years. He was a signalman for the Pennsylvania Railroad 42 years, retiring five years ago. He was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen. Surviving are his wife, Hazel, son James, of Springfield, Va., stepdaughters, Mrs. Marjorie Boggs, of Bridgewater, Mass., Mrs. Edith Higgins, of Lancaster, Calif, and Mrs. Helen Buckles, of Dayton; sister, Mildred Johnson, of New Hampton, and 11 grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Ansberg-West Mortuary, with burial in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. The body will be in the mortuary after 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Author note: Harold Johnson was born 17 September 1899 in New Hampton.
