Good morning,

A quick search shows the following:

1895 Prunghar, O'Brien County, IA census shows John, age 10 and his birth county is shown as Cherokee County, IA

1900 Summit, O'Brien County, IA census shows John, age 15, working as a hired farm laborer hand on the Ezra & Mary Elizabeth Brown farm. The census shows both of John's parents as born in Ohio.

The 1905 O'Brien County census also shows both of his parents as born in Ohio.

I find him next on a WWI Draft Registration card. He & Daisy are living in Wabena, MN at this time (1916)

The 1920 Wabena, Wabena County, MN census shows his father was born in Ohio but this time it shows his mother was born in IL.

The 1930 Wabena, Wabena County, MN census shows the same parental birth states as the 1920 census.

There is a Find A Grave Entry for John. He died in 1971 in Wadena, MN

I'm sorry I couldn't find more about his father. It's curious that John was residing with the Brown family at the young age of 15.
