(West) Pilot Township Cemetery

West Pilot Township Cemetery, on O Road N of Quimby & S of Cherokee, appears on GNIS, Google Maps, IA GenWeb(Cherokee Co) and other sites as West Point Cemetery. I spoke with the Clerk of Pilot Township today, as well as a cemetery trustee, and neither one was aware of it ever being called West Point Cemetery.

Does anyone have any historical information about why this cemetery appears all over the internet as West Point instead of Pilot?? I suspect there was a typo when GNIS made their data entry, and it's been perpetuated every else since, but that's just a guess.

Where else can I get a definitive answer? The gate shot of the cemetery clearly says "West Pilot".
