John Claussen of Washta 1917

The obituary of Henry BIERKAMP (died 5 July 1917, Luverne, MN) lists the attendees at the funeral. One attendee was John CLAUSSEN of Washta. Henry BIERKAMP's wife was Sophia Magdalena CLAUSSEN. Sophia had a brother, Johann Friedrich CLAUSSEN, who was born about 1857 in Holstein and immigrated to Scott County, IA about 1870 with his parents Peter Jacob CLAUSSEN and Anna Christina ROSTERMUND. I am trying to determine if Johann Friedrich CLAUSSEN and the John CLAUSSEN who was living in Washta in 1917 are the same person. Does anyone have any information on this John? Anything provided would be appreciated. Thanks
