Last rites for Anne Christine Florine, 54, who died at the family home in Silver township Nov. 10, were held Nov. 13 from the Memorial Presbyterian church. Burial was made at the Cedar cemetery.Christine, as she was known to her many friends and relatives, was born in Brande, Denmark in September 1894, one of a family of eight children born to Christian and Jensine Norgaard.
She came to the United States in 1915 as one of a group of 12 young Danish people. She came first to Newell and in 1916 to Cherokee where she was married in 1917 to Knut A. Florine. The couple had 10 children, one of whom, Dale Richard, preceded her in death in 1939.
The family lived in Cherokee until 1932 when they moved to Spring township where they lived until 1942 at which time, they moved to a farm in Silver township where the family resided for the past six years.
Mrs. Florine was a good wife and mother, whose family and home were always her first concern. She was a tireless worker and was always willing to help others. Her smile and willing hands will be missed by many.
She is survived by her husband; nine children, Dr. Charlotte of Honolulu, John at home, Mrs. A. A. Lorenzen (Lucile) of Spokane, Wash., Robert of Pilot township, Gladys teaching at Cornell, Bonita nursing in Sioux City, Adelia attending school in Cedar Falls, Thomas and Patricia at home.
Other survivors are two grandchildren; two sisters, Andrea and Augusta, and one brother, Hans Christian, in Denmark; besides many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Glen Simons, Leo Pederson, John Berns, Claus Karlson and Francis Mortensen.
Here from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Florine and son Clifford of LeSeuer, Minn., and a number of the Danish folks who came to America with Mrs. Florine, Mr. and Mrs. Niels Peterson of Newell, Mrs. Marie Thistrup of Sioux City, Mr. and Mrs. N. Berndt of Omaha and Jack Jensen of Herman, Neb.
