Rudolph D. Kasberg, 73, died in Cherokee Tuesday morning following a one-month illness. He had made his home at 505 South Hughes and had lived in Cherokee the past 40 years.

Born on May 31, 1897, in Mosling, Wis. To Mr. and Mrs. Gustava Kasberg, he married Lula Belle Odekirk in Waukegan, Wis. on Dec. 2, 1922.

He was a steam shovel operator in his early years, moving to Cherokee where he was employed by Iowa Electric Light & Power Company prior to his retirement.

He was a veteran of World War I having served in France. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Church of God, 7th Day.

Survivors are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Donna) Cumrine of Boulder, Colo.; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Ray Griffith of Kenosha, Wis. and Mrs. Martin Christiansen of Albuquerque, N. M. and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents and two brothers.

Services will be held Friday from Greenwood Funeral Home with W. J. Kuryluk, pastor of Church of God, 7th Day of Marion will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
