Esther M. Lamoreux, 90, of Cherokee died Monday, December 8, 2003 in the Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital, Cherokee, following a lengthy illness.

Services will be held at 3 pm. Wednesday at the Greenwood Funeral Home, Cherokee.

She was born September 18, 1913 in Rock Township, Cherokee to Robert and Sarah (Lee) Fee. She attended Rock Township #6 Country School and graduated from Wilson High School, Cherokee in 1931. Esther attended the University of Wyoming at Laramie, Wyoming. She worked as secretary for miller, Miler, and Miller Law Firm for many years, retiring in 1981. On February 22, 1950, she married James H. Lamoreux in Hastings, Neb.

She enjoyed traveling to visit family in Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Vacationing also took Esther to Europe and Mexico City.

Survivors include a sister, Edna Larsen, of Kalamazoo, Mich.; nieces, Evelyn Husser, and her husband, Robert, of Kalamazoo, Mich.; Barbara Ritchey, and her husband Ronald, of Menomonee Falls, Wisc.; grandnieces, Sara Milovanic and her husband, Michael; Amy Teske, and her husband, Matt; Mary White, and her husband, Patrick; Janette Murphy, and her husband, Lance; Julie Fisher, and her husband, Douglas; grandnephews, John Wright, Steven Husser, William Ritchey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, (Clarence Fee); a sister (Mary Vorpahl and her husband, John); brother-in-law (Palmer Larsen); nephew (Donald Larsen); niece (Verna Wright, and her husband Donald).
