Raymond W. Dunn

Raymond W. Dunn, 88, a longtime Correctionville area resident died Dec. 5, at 5:20 a.m. in the Sunset Knoll Retirement Home in Aurelia, following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held on Dec. 8 at 2 p.m. from the Boothby Funeral Home in Cherokee. Rev. James Smith will officiate and burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Cherokee.

Mr. Dunn was born on July 25, 1905, in Cherokee County, to Peter & Mary Jackson Dunn. He graduated from Meriden High School. He was married to Eveline Rasmus on May 15, 1929, at Cherokee. He owned and operated the Standard Oil Station in Cherokee for a few years and also drove trucks for Rasmus Trucking. He then farmed in the Correctionville area for 48 years retiring in 1967. He had been a resident of the Sunset Knoll Retirement Home since July of 1990 and before this was a longtime Correctionville area resident. He was affiliated with the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cherokee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife Eveline, Aurelia; one son and one daughter; Larry Dunn and his wife Patricia, Severn, Ma.; Diane Anderson and her husband Phil, Cherokee; six grandchildren.
